Migrating email to a new services is not automatic, there will be some actions and setup required on your end.

Here is the process:

  1. We will change your email password(s) on the existing service so we can migrate your mail to the new service.  You will be sent your new password(s) prior to them being changed.

  2. [You need to] When your email client stops working and gives authentication/password errors, input the new password you were provided

You are still using the original service at this point, the password change was necessary for us to migrate your existing mail
  3. We migrate your mail, change DNS, server delivery location etc.

At this point you will stop receiving email, you will be able to send but new mail will begin to get delivery to the new server
  4. [You need to] Update or reconfigure your mail client(s), phone(s), device(s) etc

Every device is different so follow the guidelines for your particular device/mail client using the server settings outlined in this Knowledgebase article.
  5. Once you have confirmed that you are receiving mail on the new service, it is strongly recommended that you update your password(s).

Your new email service uses something called "auto discover" meaning that most mail clients will be able to automatically discover the appropriate mail settings once you enter your user name (your email address) and password (the password I have supplied you with) in the new account setup.

Your options for updating your mail client(s)/device(s) are:

  1. Remove the account and re-add it using the auto discover feature.
    OR
  2. Update the server setting using the Knowledgebase article.
If you have any problems or questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

You can fully manage all your new mail features from the control panel, links to your webmail, account management, spam control and upgrade/downgrade features are all available from the services section in your control panel (log in to bigblockstudios.ca and select the BigMail service).
